Re: Upper Tryweryn!

If you're good to roll then go for it, I can remember paddling it in a borrowed yellow rotobat crapping my load about capsizing as I couldn't roll. The Tryweryn is pretty straight forward and a lot of the features can be avoided if you're worried about a pasting. Once you've done it, you'll be buzzi...

Re: Paddling access

That's a really good result, just a great shame that you had to be arrested to get it. I hope no body else has to go through this.

Come on media coverage... Tell the world what has happened and why the charges were dropped.

That news article is quite interesting. >>>"He was arrested under Section 11 of the Fraud Act 2006 for 'obtaining services dishonestly' before being released on police bail. He is due to find out next month whether he will be charged." So could Nigel call the police and inform them that Jimmy Jayes ...

The problem I have with many health and safety laws is that they're absurd! I remember reading an article in the paper about a guy who wanted to have a christmas party in a council owned building- he was put off by red tape, he even needed a risk assesment doing on his mince pies! Very sad incident ...

I get the feeling Jimmy Jayes has nothing to do with this. I think it's more to do with the new wannabe entrepreneur owner. I'd be interested to hear the other side of the story. i.e. Why they think we should pay them and what they propose we get for our money in return. Aside from that, shouldn't i...

If BA carry on making £880million profit a year they will still be around in 2012. Especially considering that is is very doubtful them having a setback/bad publicity on as large a scale as the terminal 5 problems this year. Well if they keep making a profit then yes, of course they'll be around, b...

Well I'm a weird one as I have a fluctuating hearing ability - some mornings I wake up deaf as a post, otherwise if it's normal I'm just totally (can't even hear 120dB) in my left ear. I take medication which stabalises my hearing ability, although I can't do much about it getting gradually worse ov...

Point your wife in the direction of this thread. She'll realise that it's "obviously" a bad idea and allow you to leave your boats on the floor. :-) But seriously... If people miss the get out for conwy falls, do they also paddle the grade 5's blind? My point is that this is a fairly serious section and it seems illogical that you can negotiate it without trouble then miss the get out on what is a fairly straight forward ending. I also used to think signs were a...

Re: NO Access E-W Dart and DFA want to charge Professionals

The Dart Fishing Association (DFA) has said NO to agreed access to East and West Dart. Also what DFA are proposing is to enforce a charge on the profesionals using the River Dart. This strikes me as a little strange, if the DFA don't agree to access then how can they charge a selection of the users...

No the "killer weir" is above the upper section - below the dam. If you stand near the top of the car park, and look upstream I believe you can see it.
