Tiderace Pace 17 Tour v Kirton C-Trek

Any opinions, does the Kirton C-Trek still cut the mustards compared to the newer designs?

Try Jim Bonney, he is a kayaker and the first maybe only amputee to re-qualify as a Royal Marine Commando

We took that plane ride a few years ago, the landing is interesting to say the least, not long after the same plane dropped out of the sky killing all on board. eeek!

One of the best rivers I have ever paddled. Looking into some of the gorges is just jaw dropping with back to back grade 5 rapids as far as the eye can see!

Re: Yes, but did you catch that eddy?

Being able to slow your absolute speed down the river without losing boat speed is pivotal to carrying momentum through the white water features to stay on line is. What does this mean? I think what Simon means is that some people focus on running rivers using eddys. e.g. I have safely made it to t...

Re: Conwy falls rescue

Or,as Mark points out, avoid paddling round blind corners... Like none of us have ever done that before, or dropped into gorges on rivers we have never boated in distant lands and had to make a desperate ferry or eddy or have had to extract ourselves with some clawing at cliff faces, fancy rope wor...

Re: Remix Tips

I think the Remix teaches you to be a better boater as you have to choose a line then charge it making accurate strokes, It is a boat that needs to driven. When paddled this way I think it is the most rewarding river runner available and can handle the hardest runs. Not a lazy paddlers boat for sure...

Super fast and boofs realy well, but if you miss the boof it goes deep due to those long slicey ends and not as much rocker as some creekers.

Re: Scary swim

Boated this section a few years back at higher flows. We looked at this rapid from the bridge and it looked pretty easy although a walled in must run. Just upstream the gorge is impressive with the walls of gorge meeting above your head so that you paddle through a natural rock tunnel in big volume ...

Re: Boat moulders / manufacturers please consider !

Simple to fix - take some foam, either lagging or sleeping mat and wrap about 6-10 inched around the exposed ratchet strap webbing between the thigh brace and seat. You need to keep it loose enough to the webbing strap will still slide through unhindered but it lakes a couple of minutes to do and on...

Trekmates merino from go-outdoors are really cheap as are merino tops from Decathalon. Seem to work as well as top branded stuff but half the price.

If Carlsberg did rivers..
