Awareness

Mark, I'm very aware, and that's why I'm posting here, as I know there are big trips being done, (to the tune of USD 8k a pop). I'm more interested in doing it the hard way, and if it is possible with a small group. I wanted to know if anyone had been. I know some Myanmar nationals, some people who ...

Boating Borneo - info please

Aside from the commercial rafting runs in Sabah (Malaysia), does anyone have any links or contacts or information on kayaking in Borneo? Living here for three years, and have my machete, bug juice and other Jungle river bash brou ha ha to hand.

They do still cut hands off for thieving in some parts of Asia (Singapore I think)!! Whether or not that is true (which I doubt), it's worth noting that the Land of the Free has just legally killed its 1000th person since the death penalty was re-introduced. Barbarity is not the sole preserve of an...

Surfers and Kayakers

I've not surfed in th UK for over a year now, but I have rarely had problems with board surfers, all it takes is a little bit of mutual respect, playing by the rules and not nicking all the waves ;O) IMHO there is more hassle "after work" and at weekends, not just because things are busier, but beca...

Why dont you hire a car and take a roof rack to fit with you. Just a thought. Did this in Morocco, worked OK, 'cept the doors did not fit as well after we handed the car back as the model supplied was changed on us prior to arrival. Have asked other companies specifically for roof racks and they ha...
