Paddles left at middle Tawe get out

Due to general numptyism we left two paddles by the get out to the middle Tawe, left where we got changed on the road that leads up to the Abercrave Inn which is right, just after the A4067 bridge if you are heading toward Pen-Y-Cae. Both were Streamlyes, one glass shaft, plastic blades with red and...

Re: River Plym - Shaugh Bridge to Bickleigh Bridge

Yes, I did explain to him that we are perfectly entitled to paddle this section and threatening people by claiming that they are trespassing amounts to bullying but there we go.

Re: River Plym - Shaugh Bridge to Bickleigh Bridge

A quick heads up as I don't know if this happens a lot or not. While looking at the Lower Plym today we had a gentleman explain to us that we couldn't paddle the section as the river and all the land surrounding it was private despite there being national trust land above and a clearly marked footpa...

Re: Avoid the "OK Plateau" - Deliberate Practise

I think this stuff is fairly intuitive but its nice to have it put in a structured and concise manner. Think about it for a second, if you don't do new things you won't learn how to do said things. Would you expect to learn how to punch though big holes if you always take the line around them or por...

Re: Anyone missing some boats?

Another friend of mine took a Citroen Picasso out to the alps with a Citroen own brand roof rack that had to be made secure with Pizza boxes and Duct tape. Not sure if there is a pattern here, there may be 100s out there with perfectly functioning Citroen cars and roof racks and we're all just talki...

Re: Anyone missing some boats?

They're friends of mine. The C3's roof rack came off coming back from Lee Valley. They recovered the boats and no one was hurt so everything was fine given the situation.

Re: Gaining weight for kayaking.

Don't set out to gain weight, it's a really stupid thing to do to your body. It depends on how you go about it. True. I was really considering the aspect that Morsey expands on of the often detrimental effect of setting weight targets and then using supplements to try and get there, or indeed of ju...

Re: Gaining weight for kayaking.

No need to put weight on to make the boat fit you better IMO. Work on gaining strength (rather than building musclemass) Not quite correct, while you can gain strength without gaining muscle mass through central nervous system adaptation your scope for improvement is limited. If you want to get sig...

Re: Companies that rock

Marsport is my local shop, Craig and Paul there are always friendly and support my old uni club, Reading too.

I bought an IR Backband to replace the one in my Jackson Fun from them. Craig also installed it too free of charge which was kind of him. A nice place to spend your money.

Wanted:New Shred Ready Vixen

My ladyfriend is off to the Alps in a week or so and would like a new helmet to keep her head safe as she thinks her current Yak one won't cut the mustard. The trouble is the only one that she's tried which fits well is the Shred Ready Vixen and she can't find it anywhere nearby in stock. Does anybo...
