COMMUNITY RIVERS REPORTS GRADES CONTRIBUTE BOOKS SEA

Members of Hayle and Falmouth Canoe Clubs demonstrating their general lack of play-boating talent.

The ritual discussion over who managed to balls up the subtraction of 3 hours from the time of high water - an hour early is better than an hour late though. When the tide rises the water flows in from left to right over the sloped sill.

Scenic Hayle in the background.

Apparently they recently removed 40 tonnes of mussels from inside the tunnels.

HW minus 3hrs. Pete from Hayle surfs on the small wave that forms as the water just comes up over the sill.

Tarquin from Falmouth trying to throw his end down in the small wave that starts to form on surfers left.

Another Hayle CC member side surfing as the hole continues to grow.

Tarquin blasting as the hole goes pretty much full width with a small wave on the far surfers right side.

Pete playing at the edge of the hole. Everybody else staying back from the boil line.

Pete squirting the eddy line.

HW minus 2hrs; the hole washes out giving a wave which is briefly surfable before that washes out to just leave you with the eddy line.

All the pictures were taken on Sunday 4th July 2004 when High Water at Newquay was 7.2m (Springs) at 7:38 BST.
