French Alps Water Levels

Postby Stuart J Woodward on Fri Jun 02, 2006 4:00 pm

Hi everyone

Just a quick update from here in the French Alps.

We are currently having a cold patch; the last few days have been unusually cold for this time of year. 2 Days ago the Ubaye valley saw a fresh sprinkling of snow. As a result of this river levels have dropped. When the warm weather returns then there is plenty more snow to melt and levels should be back to start of season levels in no time. If the weather becomes hot in the day and warm at night then levels are likely to become very high.

we will post more as the weather changes
