Recommended Top-decks?

Postby benbrisbourne » Wed Aug 29, 2012 7:02 pm

Just looking for some reviews/experiences with various brand's top-decks. I'm looking for something with non-latex seals - for freestyle in warm weather - also the deck should fit on an X-56 - both in K1 and C1 conversion (little bit to ask, but ive been using a rashguard/spraydeck combo on both and it's worked fine so far). Anything in material thickness from something similar to the Peak Surfskin, up to a shorty cag-deck. I've used Peak UK, Palm and Immersion Research dry gear in the past - have been satisfied with all of them.

Thanks.

if you know of an IR deck that fits the boat then you can spec a top deck on the IR website with your deck and cag of choice

IR do indeed do cag decks. They can also change the placement of the tunnel on the spraydeck to make it C1 friendly.

If its just freestyle, I'd recommend the klingon empire. The competition and rival drytops are both non-latex necks. I'm pretty sure there's short sleeve options too.

Thanks for the replies - I've got a couple of friends with the IR topdecks, and they seem impressive, if not a little on the pricey side however. Does anyone know if Palm constructs a custom one? And has anyone got anything to say about the Peak UK surfskins/topdecks? The surfskin's I'm particularly interested in, but being in the middle of Canada, it's not like I can just go to the Peak shop.

The Sandiline Cagdecks are really nice materials and Kevlar Deck, but the style needs a little work.
