Brilliant day's spectating on Saturday; with some of Friday's planned programmed added. Great weather, water, paddlers. Now I don't care that I didn't get Olympic slalom tickets.

What I would like is a boat that weighs 9 kilos instead of 17.

Although it was the wind that was to blame for the slalom not going ahead at CIWW rather than the rain.

It also stopped a charity event paddling along the Cornish coast, so they went by road instead.

You sort of wonder if there is an access problem: I paddled the Dee yesterday and counted 4 kayak paddlers on the river between the tail and town. Dee was on 7-8 at Mile End Mill sun was out - perfect.
