Why does Canoe England charge more than Canoe Wales?!

Postby Ed Lefley » Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:26 pm

Hi Guys,

Just come back after 2 years in Australia and need to renew and sort all of my qualifications out again, and have been looking at how much membership is.

Canoe England: £37
Canoe Wales: £35

I know it's only £2 but that's £2 that CE don't seem to be using for anything productive (I've just been reading the Barle access thread...)

Does anyone know the justification for this? I'm fortunate in that I can possibly get an address in Wales sorted (well the DVLA have decided it's in Wales as my licence etc are in both English and Welsh)

I think the comparison with Canoe Wales should be the basic membership which is £28.

But to coach I'd need comprehensive membership

I understood that it was just "membership" now certainly for CE, and that there's no distinction between basic and comprehensive?

Janet,

That was the way I'd read it as well... another lovely move to stiff the CE membership!

The more I think about it, the more I'm tempted to get Canoe Wales membership, and use a relatives address... GF also pointed out that the SCA is a possibility as her parents are in Scotland, but I don't think that saves me any money
