Hurley access

OK, first off, I've been to Hurley twice, so I'm no local and don't know much about it. BUT....

Yesterday (Friday) my friend Claire dislocated her shoulder badly on the wave. We got her out on the ladder on the SAS side (North Side, river left). We managed to get an ambulance (or two!) down to where we were. Obviously this attracted the attention of the landowners, and we expected a bit of trouble from them about being on their land (we paddle mostly in N Wales!!), but NO! They were really really helpful and said that they were going to be discussing the possibility of opening up their car parks to boaters, if we signed in and left a mobile number, this would then allow better access if anyone hurt themselves (I spent a good ten minutes trying to work out with the 999 operator where I was).

Has anyone had similar experiences there? Would this be of benefit if we could access Hurley Weir from the North Side?
