source for tow line bits

Could someone recomend a good source for shackles, fairleads, cleats and sundry bits and pieces of that nature please.

Any local chandlery, if you want a online/ebay then I know pacer marine (round the corner from me) sell everything you could want and are on both.
Make sure that all metal parts are A2 stainless NOT coated or they will rust and or seize in time!

Brookbank list most of the things you're looking for in their catalog, although recent experience tells me that they seldom have them in store (my local one anyway). Annoyingly, and unbelievably, they don't seem to have any s/steel mounting hardware to actually attach the stuff!

One of these? With a hole tho it for the line of course. I have one on my t/line which, although made of floating rope, uses a large crab which sinks the line unless the float is used.



They certainly used to be available from Knoydart but I suspect that as they seem to be running down the Knoydart side of the business, they may no longer have them. Always worth asking though. I don't know any other sources, but it would be interesting to find some. No doubt a decent chandlers would have them?

Seems it's called a "Gill net float" - here's a source - although it look like you have to buy 25 of them - --

Perhaps some fishy equipment retailers will sell them? These folk - http://www.coastalnets.co.uk/fishing_03.htm - have a pic which includes one of them - probably worth an ask?

Gael Force in inverness (and online) have the net floats for about £1 last time I got some.
