Michal and Natalie have arrived at Burton Bradstock, having clocked 35+ miles today to get past Portland and Chesil ahead of the incoming storm...great effort!

And may I just add; had it not been for last year's SWSKM, I would not have got to know them. So a very big thankyou to you, Mark.

John's made it as far as the Spar on Mull, if anyone wants him to pick anything up, you can message him though his blog.

A rest day in Scotland today, looking at the forecast, can't say I blame him.

Wow! Go John.
Look at that sea state crossing the North Channel. Looks like should be up on the North Coast before the weekend is out.
Great to follow his progress and the blog is amusing too.

Hold your breath today - Martin is currently attempting the big crossing from Lundy to south Wales, in some very patchy weather.

He's a few miles away from land now and has missed Tenby, but it looks like he's going to make it...check out the SPOT map...

That is an amazing effort. I have been down to the beach today the NE wind is not going to help him from here, and the tide has turned.
Not sure where he is going to land now, Freshwater East or West perhaps.

He should have landed by now, sterling effort.- Jim I think heading to Tenby he'd be beginning to head against the flow from about 1200 and having the NE wind, perhaps that's why the course was altered?

P o S ? can't work that one out. Is there an obvious reason why Martins "spot" shows him still on the water ? turned off close to shore? loss of signal ?

Some very determined paddling going on out there well done to both, I hope the weather cuts them a break for a while

P o S = I am going to go for Point of Stoer.

Reading comments on Martins Facebook page it appears he had the same problem near Lundy.

Considering I'll be in the Cetus you provided Pete, how could they compete?

Some impressive distances being put in by the circumnavigators in less than favourable conditions - who would have thought that the northerly airflow would last this long at this time of year?

As I noted in John's blog on Saturday, his paddle from Slaggan to Scourie covered a greater distance than I have managed in the same area over 2 long days on the water. One year we paddled from Mellon Udrigle (just over the hill from Slaggan) to Isle Ristol, on an earlier occasion we paddled from Tanera beg to Point of Stoer (POS). The leg John did from POS to Scourie was as long as either of the others, so that's 3 times as far as one of our longer day trips with a group... Oh, and one trip we did with the wind, the other with no wind, definitely no wind in the face!

The Lundy to Pembrokeshire crossing is equally impressive (similar distance with cross tides). I wonder what Martin has planned for Cardigan bay - Fishguard to Bardsey? Mind you in a couple of days John will be looking at shortcutting the NE firths, might be an even bigger day to be had up there? (these probably aren't practical on account of tide cycles)
