Anyone paddle this section of the Ashop?

Was wondering if anyone has paddled this section of river and has anymore info and if anyone knows of a river level guage?

It's been done many times. The fact a guide has been written should probably have been a clue to this.
Personally I didn't feel it was worth the effort.
Fast with few eddies and little in the way of features apart from trees and sheep fences.
Take care in high water due to the above and check lower down this page for a video posted a few days ago.
Better options are The Etherow next to The Woodhead pass and a couple of it's tribs.

I've looked at the ashop and didn't think it was worth running. As said above Etherow and tribs such as black clough are much better. Also take a look at Heyden brook which is nice and has a 5m waterfall on it which is quite fun.

There are all running now!!! but will drop off again quick. Drove over there earlier today.
