Re: West Wales Sea Kayak Meet
Hi Guys,
Some of the people who were able to guide have had to pull out due to various reasons, ranging from the mild to open heart surgery (I think we can forgive that one). We still have enough to run the event but if anyone is willing to pair up with someone local so that there are two for every group then please get in touch with me.
I am uploading maps and other useful info for those attending and will post links as soon as they are ready.
Thanks,
Mike

Maps, charts, tidal constants and streams can be downloaded as jpegs and printed from here. Milford Haven tide times are online here, don't forget to add an hour for BST.
I am meeting with the Rugby Club and the Boat Club etc., to touch base this week and will upload a geotag for each location. I'll also provide a GR for each.
If there's any other information that people would like then please ask.

I wish I had a direct line to the weather Gods but unfortunately I don't. We've done a good job dodging the weather workwise this summer with all of our courses being full and squeezing our trips into the drier days. There is almost always somewhere that can be paddled in Pembrokeshire so we're not too worried about the weather, although I do hate northerlies!
Did you know that Pembrokeshire is the driest county in Wales?

Having lived and around Snowdonia for five years, I'm all too well aware of what a feeble boast this is...!

One of our group has had to pull out so we also have a spare place.
Suggest you offer the usual £30.00 and that means double the amount going to charity and you get to enjoy a good weekend!
Paul.

Re: West Wales Sea Kayak Meet
Mike, is it ok to pass on one booked place to Mike Halloway?
He would take the place of Diana Collins from Devon who cannot make the event now.
Copy of my e-mail below for your information.
Hi Mike,
You are welcome to have our spare place, suggest you contact Mike Mayberry and pay £30.00 via paypal to:
westwalesseakayakmeet@hotmail.co.uk
The place was booked in the name of Diana Collins so Mike can cross reference!
I will copy this mail to Mike on UKRGB so he is aware of the swap.

Re: West Wales Sea Kayak Meet
Hi Mike,
Unfortunately, my paddling buddy, Neil Evans, is not now able to make the event, so there is one more space available. Neil is not looking for a refund and is happy for his £30 to go to RNLI / Welsh Air Ambulance.
This means I will be travelling down to the meet on my own, so if anyone is interested in sharing a car / petrol, then please send me a PM. I live in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
Cheers
JulleG

Re: West Wales Sea Kayak Meet
Hi All,
It's been a bit hectic here so I've been a little slow in getting back to you all. In case you missed it, grid references for the campsite location, maps, tidal info and lots of other useful stuff, is all on our website. Trips might be anywhere on those maps, I won't know myself until Friday night as the guides are deciding where they are happy to go.
We have access to the field and toilets from 5pm on Friday. Car parking is in the school car park and no vehicles are allowed in the field. We may have to block each other in but as we are paddling on Saturday morning this shouldn't cause too much of a problem. There is also a pay and display car park less than 100m up the road that will be free overnight.
Early forecasts are looking dry for Pembrokeshire over the weekend and windfinder has been suggesting lightish winds all weekend. Lunchtime tomorrow the inshore forecast will see into saturday morning so we'll know more again from then.

Big thanks to Mike, Shelley & Pip for all their efforts in putting this on. He even arranged for decent weather once Friday nights rain was done.
