Re: Knee Supports
I have used neoprene wristsupports in the past, you can buy them at most good sports shops or physio suppliers, try before you buy as they come in all shapes and sizes and you want a good fit.

Re: Knee Supports
It might be more effective to use a jackson happy seat that supports the leg?

Re: Knee Supports
Seems quite strange getting knee pain in your kayak, could be worth looking a little deeper into it and making sure there are no problems with outfitting and such.
I had bad knees for years but after giving up all the high impact stuff and getting into kayaking my knees have never been better, this could quite probably be the by-product of sitting on my arse for long periods of time!!
Steve.

Re: Knee Supports
Thanks for the replies.
The problem is too many years as a plumber my left knee is shot going to see a physio soon too try and help with the problem. I only have a problem when I'm playboating so might start thinking of a way to change the outfitting in it I think its because my knee is rubbing on the inside of the boat but dont really want to do much as hoping to sell my boat soon something with proper thigh braces, I already use a happy seat but it doesnt do much

Re: Knee Supports
Hi there, I have had problems with my left knee for the last 20 years & have been waring neoprene supports whilst doing sports for most of that time.
I find it does help when I'm kayaking as they provide some additional padding but I also had foam glued into my old boat for additional support & paddin, have been meaning to put more into my current boat but havent gotten round to it yet (6 years later).
Most of the neoprene supports I have are pre-bent which is good as they don't bunch up at the back of the knee causing circulation problems, I have found the open ones that wrap around your leg & close with velcro do tend bunch up.
I also found that some of the cheeper ones out there are better that some of the more expencive ones & fit better.

Re: Knee Supports
I have the same problem due to a screw head in kneecap very slightly protuding on the side of the knee and find a neoprene pre-bent support helps alot aswell as tailoring the padding on the boat area where your knee rests, air conditioning wrap for pipes is great, really sticky, thin so you can layer to suit,I fitted mine out in the summer so in the winter it feels a bit tighter rather than the other way round
