Looks like you were in the best place!
I was out in my Xplore at Looe and that same cold easterly wind was not very pleasant.
BTW I see from their website that Waterborne no longer appear to be running courses or stocking Tiderace boats.

yeah, sadly they wound the business up over the winter. I bumped into Drew in the surf a couple of weeks ago and he said it was a good thing to do in tandem with other work but doesn't have the time anymore.

Saturday was cold and grey here, but yesterday was a perfect spring paddling day. Interestingly as we came off the water at Poldhu a car swept bay with an Xplore on the roof - a red and black one, looked very very new.

Oh, thats such a pity, they seemed fairly busy with courses.

Mine is also red and black, but its not very new. In fact its one of Drew's ex-demo boats and one of the last Finnish-manufactured Tiderace boats:

From some time back - - -

You are the one who's responsible for the hole in my bank balance, after your rave review.
I paddled it twice yesterday in flat-calm conditions, and it definitely seemed more wobbly than my Sea Rover, but I expected that, and I managed to stay upright.

So - what's your impressions now? Mike.

Quite possibly a picture of Nick P's boat before he bought it, along with my all black boat that ended up on an RNLI video (after I sold it).

Very impressed Mike. Still feels a little more tippy initially than my Sea Rover, but I hardly notice it now. It doesn't want to sit perfectly up-rite at rest, but only goes over so far, then sits rock steady.
It's also much more manoeuvrable than the SR. Edged turns are coming together; something that I found very difficult with the SR as I couldn't keep it on-edge for very long.
The only thing that's worrying me is that I get tired legs fairly quickly in the xcape. It doesn't seem to be as comfortable as the SR.
I've got quite short legs, 29" inside, for my height, so a big gap between the bulkhead and the foot rests. I've packed it two sheets thickness of hard foam, but it still needs another inch or two thickness before I'll be able to rest my feet on it.
I haven't been out in rough seas or for a long journey yet, but that's soon to change, as I'm retiring after this trip offshore (in Namibia at the moment)

I've had issues with numb legs in the Xplore, which seem to relate to lack of under-thigh support. I've fettled with the seat and backrest positions and for longer trips I put a drybag of spare clothes or a towel in front of the seat for additional support.
The Xplore sits well on edge too - but then, it was designed to!
Still wonder now and again whether I should've bought an Xcite, but I'm perfectly happy with the Xplore.
