Swann Freestyle HD Vs GoPro

Have heard of this gopro alternative, that is a fair bit cheaper, and the footage seems to looks similar, except I cant find any footage of people kayaking using one. Is this for some obvious reason for this that I have overlooked (other than the obvious reason that Gopros are marketed better and everybody buys them)? The one thing that is noticeably different to the inexperienced eye is that the screen of the Swann is flat. Does that mean anything?

The Screen being flat doesn't mean anything. The reason the GoPro Screen isn't is that it's a bolt on, so it will always stick out a bit more than one built into the camera.

Looking at the videos on their website, there's a fair bit of blocking going on. Not great advertising on their part.
