black chord deck outfitting

Knoydart used to sell 5 mm black 100% polyester cord by the meter (including shockcord of various diameters and black end toggles, but I've got those already) but they have discontinued the BLACK 5mm poly cord. I've searched high and low on the net but to no avail. Unless I want 100 meters for 15dollars plus 35 dollars shipping from the States....

Does anybody know of a supplier that sells it by the meter?

I've bought 6mm black for decklines from One Stop Chandlery and have found them to be good.

I don't think they do 5mm but in practice the 6mm is more like 5.5mm the way I would measure it. It goes through my RDFs OK.

Things are a foot , Bards and I are hatching a plan to get 6mm black reflective deck line over to the UK, its all in suport of the Life boat crews , Flat Earth Sails is donating the reflective deck line, and Bards is doing the leg work over ther , Im posting over 50m on Munday , and Bards shuld have it in a weeks time , its all for two good corses, one to get good night/low light visability hapaning, and to suport the life boats !

Also, I've just found a very good choice in diameters and materials on this site http://www.jaderope.co.uk including good descriptions of stretch and flexibility features. However they do seem to have found a very different purpose for the rope completely.

Put my name on the list please. Retro-reflective deck line is as rarer over here than koala burgers and Ive been trying to get my mits on some for ages.

I can suply the cord but Koalas are to hard to fit in post packs , and you can only fit a cupal to a bag !

Accepting this thread may have produced a solution, try Needlesports in the lakes - they sell various types of cord, but no guarantee they have black. You could ask of course - -

Also worth asking Karitek. Maybe SKO as well. Failing all that, then why not ask P&H who I've found very helpful with bits n bobs in the past. Or any of the other mainstream manufacturers.

The P&H Delphin that I've seen in a local shop has exactly the same black cord as what Knoydart used to sell.

If you are yousing a DB cord , slide the outer sheath back , cut out about 150mm of the iner and then slide the outer back and melt to a point , its a lot easier to pull it through
