Shipping gear to NZ help

Postby steveparry » Fri Feb 24, 2012 1:25 pm

Good Morning All

I'm moving to NZ in July to teach for a couple of years and would like to ship outdoor gear and some books and the like out with me.

Anyone used any particularly good companies?

Thanks in advance

Hi Steve

I may be able to help or point you in the right direction.
Can you PM how much stuff you have and where in NZ

Best regards

Dunno, as far as I can tell my brother is such a cheapskate he is just planning to leave it all in my dads loft in case he ever decides to return to the UK. Since he is now teaching in NZ and has previously been doing outdoor stuff, I can only conclude that all you really need is what you can take in your luggage. Did I mention they spent 3 months travelling by train and bus etc. to get there so went with virtually nothing?

Coming back, make sure your container has been filled and shipped before you leave, friends had terrible trouble with an operator who took ages to finish filling the container and send it. Being back in the UK they were unable to effectively sort the situation out despite have family in friends still over there. I think they got their stuff back.

Thanks guys, I'll check out these options.

Dave, while I'm well exited, I fly the day after I finish teaching in the UK and start teaching there 4 days after I land...no Summer holiday in 2012. It's like having a real job!
