I know, it looks as if I drink half-pints, but don't be fooled... I have very big hands !! ;-)

Your pictures just keep getting better and better. Love them all, but the one with the three sails and the snow covered Arran is brilliant ! Thanks for a great day out Douglas.

What is your honest opinion on kayak sails? I'm sure many here would have negative views about them but I am interested after failing to make a kite work safely in 2010. Do you think there would be an advantage if one was to use a rudder as well with a sail?

I have a Valley Aquanaut HV in my collection and I think when I restart kayaking a sail could help. On the other hand I also have a point 65 XP 18 and I wonder if it's a little too unstable at 54 cms wide and my 15 st high centre of gravity. I should imagine just trying would be the thing to do.

Bye the way how many £££s do these sails cost and where does one buy them?

Love the photos but not the cold weather.

Lovely pics Douglas, especially of the snow covered Arran hills. Some of us have been stuck at work every time the wind drops or the sun comes out lately!

I was out on Saturday morning doing a lap of Cumbrae, the views were incredible and conditions were perfect, I wish I had taken my camera !

Ah, so I missed the classic 3 castle trip yesterday whilst sitting about on the other coast hoping the wind would pick up :-)
(had a better day today, although I snapped lines in race 3 in the middle of a close battle for 4th which I was starting to get ahead in)

Nigel, Karitek are the main UK importer of Flat Earth Sails:

Apparently Poole bay canoes are also selling them, their website doesn't seem to work for me.

I haven't got one yet but it's tough keeping up with those 4 so I will be getting one.
