A long time ago I read athread on here that said about converting the maryhill locks into a river course and even had an artists impression, I am wondering if anyone knows anything about this? I am eager to know if this is going to go ahead because I think it would be a fantastic idea! maybe not the best area but would still be great because at the moment I live in Glasgow but I cant get out paddling much :( because I cant drive, go out with my club when I can but other than that none. I have heard of a couple of good playspots behind the art galleries and transport museum and even had a look just never managed to get the boat there yet. so I think the water course would be fantastic because it would be a great facility right on our door step :) any info on the WW course and the playspots on the kelvin appreciated

Hopefully these will get full approval and development started.

Google 'Glasgow Paddlesports' for info. There was a good event at Speirs Wharf in June. I think they are needing another 2mill to start the project. The canal and Waterways trust are 100% behind it.
The Leith project, indoor WW course, was put on hold.
