xmas/New Year on the Etive?

I have managed to persuade the Mrs to let me take take my boat along on our trip to Perth over xmas and New Year, all I need to know now is do you think it's worth it?

I know it all depends on the weather but:-

What is the Etive usually like around New Year? Frozen/too low/too high?
Do people usually paddle it around that time of year or do they stay in and watch The Great Escape? I will be alone but the Mrs would kill me if I didn't paddle with someone.
What are the roads like between Perth and Glen Etive?

I'm heading up to that area for some boating a week before Xmas, so I can let you know what its like then if thats any help?

Anything is possible, the only given is that you will be freezing your balls of.
Everything is quite likely to be frozen and too low, especially the Etive.
Perth is miles from the Etive, average roads, but if there is snowy conditions you may struggle to get down the glen itself.
Etive is very unpredictable and has no gauges, probably better to set your hopes on a lower nearer river like the Braan or Tilt. That way you wont have driven halfway across Scotland to find no water...

Thanks fir the replies, all plans changed now as a mate who had planned to meet me up there tragically died this week while paddling near Bristol.
I'll head up over easter if I can.

There is, he had his faults but gave so much to so many people.
Everything he did have gave 110%, he will missed.
