I should have probably included this link in the original post:

There is another slip just off Mumby Rd, but I know that one dries out at low, but there is a chance there may be water there if it isn't springs
You could try Priory Rd in Hardway (near the Jolly Roger pub), there is a public slip there but it does dry up, but luckily enough there is also a public jetty next to it so you could launch from there if low water?
The parking there is limited to three hours if you're paying? Otherwise park in a side street and trolley/carry your kayak to the water.
Thanks, that's useful info. I haven't located the Mumby Rd, slip. I sounds like the Haslar bridge is the best option if you need to launch at LW.

Only limited parking for this one if I remember correctly.
Sprucey wrote:Most of the Gosport to Fareham stretch is MOD land and off limits. Slightly out of your request - a couple of spots at Portchester. Maybe access to the west of the castle and also at the slip by the sailing Club at the castle. Beware, the club can get a bit arsey about "their slip" but I'm not sure if it is theirs or not?
I'm sure it is a private slip, the foot path runs to the top of it, but it is private. I think the issue is they don't like people using it without asking first, and at busy times. I did once launch from the pontoon at Port Solent (on a weekday evening), the lock keeper was quite happy to give me the combination for the gate. Getting through a sprung loaded gate with a sea-kayak single handed was another matter.
Yakdiver wrote:What about Stokes Bay/Gilkicker area
Gilkicker, a good variation, I think all the seafront parking is Pay and Display, I've not been there for about five years though. Stokes Bay is a bit far west.
The Shiner wrote:Daedalus slip is the closest free parking, also free parking at the next 4 car parks as you head eastwards along that part of the coast.
A bit far west, but I hadn't realised those car parks were free.
Thanks for all the info.
