Dry seals

Can anyone point me in the direction for info on trimming seals

I have a pair of Palm Viper bottoms and a Palm Mistral Jacket, the anle and wrist seals seem too tight
but how tight should they be? do they stretch?

I've just replaced a latex wrist seal on my dry cag.
It felt much too tight, so I tried stretching it on a bottle for a week.
Still too tight for comfort.
So then, very carefully, I cut off the bottom 2mm of the tapered seal.
Now its comfortable, and still keeps the water out.

They do seem to give a bit in use so it's worth trying to paddle in it for a couple of hours before you do any trimming (as it's obviously a bit of a 1-way operation).
