River Ettrick hydro plans

Hydro scheme on the river Ettrick, at first I thought bad news but its going to be an Archimedes screw turbine fitted to the soon to be repaired murrays cauld nr Selkirk. This 165yr old weir was badly damaged around 5yrs ago in a big flood and has been a dangerous horizon line since.
