River Orchy gauge

Postby helenr » Fri Apr 01, 2011 10:05 am

Hi,

Not sure how long its been like this, but the Orchy gauge on the SEPA & Wheres the Water site seems to be malfunctioning; currently quoting it is "EMPTY" at "-0.366" on the gauge. Unless something magical is happpening in this section of Scotland where the river has suddenly started flowing the wrong way, or something, does anyone know what caused this?

The gauge still seems to be recording something as it is clearly fluctuating up and down matching the rain we've had the last few days, but if anyone could shed any light as to what -0.366 might relate to in regards to medium, low or high levels, that would be much appreciated as we're heading up there tomorrow morning!

For Reference; while the online gauge is showing an offset baseline.
Tuesday 5 April 2011, at midday the left hand iron guage at Bridge of Orchy read 3. It was good.
