Try demo boats from Big Dog, Wenonah and Robson all confirmed. On hand will be advice and information from the guys and a chance to mix up what you might usually paddle. More info as it arrives.

Hi Chris,

I have a handful (probably one or two, but potentially up to six) of secondary school students who might be interested in this. Is it the sort of thing that they could come along to, either with their parents or by themselves (our school is just up the road). They'd be 15 to 18 years old and would have done a litle open boating (including spending a little time at the mill). Also, if they would be welcome, would they need their own BAs and paddles or would these be available to borrow on the day?

Thanks,

James

Hi all

This is going to be an awesome event,

Along with the suppliers turning up, we are going to put on a load of "come and try it" sessions so that people can try their hand at a various aspects of canoe sport including, complete first taste, trad skills (poling Lining tracking) Slalom, Spec Boat, freestyle etc.

Coaches are going to be about to give you pointers but not run specific coaching sessions, so keeping it informal and fun.

Going to be a few competitions, some daft, and some almost serious, prizes to be arranged before the even, Proadventure are donating a days canoe coaching as one of the prizes.

Hi Folks,
Sadly the event has to be postponed to the 27th of Feb.
With record water levels last weekend the shadow was cast, however midweek the river was dropping fast and I was starting to get optomistic that we would be good to go!
Heavy overnight rain has seen the Dee pop up from 12 to the top of the gauge at 15 at lunchtime today, ...so there is no realistic chance of seeing a sensible level on Sunday.
Could you all please pass the news around as so many were planning to attend...I hope you will all be able to make the 27th.
