Cheers for those, thought I might mention that Tarn Beck does have a guide: http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/nwengland/longhousegill.htm, although it seems to suffer from some name confusion! Looking at the OS maps, I think it is actually Tarn Beck which we paddle rather than Long House Gill.
