Had a bash at the bore on Saturday, very disappointing wave, also very crowded.
Got my times from 'boreridersclub' website, the prediction was an hour later than the actual time.
A lot of other people got caught out this way.
Make a habit of checking the EA website before you go, other sources may be unreliable, depending on who they copied their times from.

Re: Severn Bore times
Hi Dave, had a bash at the Arnside Bore on the same day up in the lakes.
It was great fun - having never run a bore before. Surfing over dry sand is an experience not to be missed.
By the way still owe you £5 for those upper tickets.

Exciting things to do in Morecambe Bay
The Arnside Bore is a novel experience! Worth trying if you're in the area with no water in the rivers.
First you get to surf a titchy wave in over the sand flats...more fun than it sounds, especially if you drop off - you simply hop oout, run ahead of the wave and get back on!
Secondly, when the tidal surge hits the Kent Viaduct, for 60-90 minutes there are a series of good playwaves generated.
I went many times in stoodent days...Si Wiles is still going regularly as he's stuck in Barrow-in-Hell due to work. He says that the genie is out of the bottle - suddenly the wave is popular - but that the night tides compensate well for this....!
Only worthwhile on the half dozen or so biggest tides of the year. Sometimes fails to work at all, due to a combination of inexplicable factors.
Si says the nearby Leven estuary does something similar, he's given it a try.

Yep must be getting old, stubble, pipe, flat cap, nearly tried a pointy boat the other day.
Next decent tide for Arnside is October ish I'm told. What Mark never said was that the bridge turns into something like Hurley on four gates but there are about twenty !! and some huge holes.
I chickened out and stuck to the nearside play wave.
