The next Freya H?

Great weekend (weather-wise) on the western seaboard, so time to develop those rolling (and coaching) skills. Water still FREEZING though!

Good work Niamh !

I was out practising yesterday, did my first self rescue with paddle float after a botched roll. Water is OK as long as you have the thermal layers on and don't spend too much time upside down as the head gets it bad even with a Reed balaclava on.

Steve,

Awesome......what sort of boat does Niamh paddle?
Perhaps the greatest flaw in democracy is the idea that, if a majority of the population believes arrant nonsense, it somehow makes the nonsense true.

Hi Runswick

A composite 2/3 scale "generic" (generally modelled after a Valley Skerray) that I made up for her - see my post on

Wow, do you still have the mould? Could it be borrowed/hired? I appreciate you are in Cork but there is no hurry (my eldest is only 5)!

Happy paddling

John

Niamh looks like she's frozen to the bone and in shock!
Are you sure she was enjoying this? ;-)

I was wondered how long the parental abuse comments might take (LOL). Seriously though, she was concentrating rather than complaining. We went for a 1/2 hour round the bay after, and as usual, it was me saying "time to go now". Roll on Summer.

P.S. she was wearing full wetsuit, aquatherm vest and hood, neoprene deck and full cag, so in fact didn't get wet apart from her hands!
