Hi all,
I am driving to Chamonix to go climbing and have space in my van for two people on the way out, and one for the return. Lots of room for kit, creek boats etc. I am meeting a partner there, so you will need your own plans once in Chamonix.
Eurotunnel is booked, departing from Folkestone at 0620 on Monday July 16th, returning from Calais at 0750 on Wednesday 25th July. This means we can leave Chamonix in the evening on the Tuesday after climbing.
I will be leaving Ulverston, South Lakes, after work in the evening on Sunday 15th July and can pick up en route, or meet at Folkestone.
The van is a new shape Peugeot Boxer, fairly comfortable (as far as vans go), approx 36 mpg and can be used for a quick kip en route if needs be. I am 26, 7 years no claims, and drive as part of my job.
The Eurotunnel is paid for, so ideally I am just looking at splitting the costs, depending on the part of the journey you travel. I can't imagine using more than 2 tanks of fuel each way (2000 mile round trip), plus tolls. Roughly £100 a seat. We can discuss this.
If you just want a boat taking, or bringing back, and can get it to / from the Lakes and / or Chamonix I am happy to take it for a contribution. I don't however have time to deliver / stand and wait for someone to pick it up in Chamonix. I do have space to store a boat at home though, so can easily accommodate a lift back if you can get your boat to Cham at a time to suit.
If you're interested, please drop me a message, or give me a ring / text on o776 3 7 two 4 two 73.
Cheers
Tom
