Paddling partner for sea kayaking - Hamble/Solent

Just bought a sea kayak and whilst experienced at marathon racing would like someone to paddle with to venture further afield out of the estuary ... explore the coast and visit the IOW ...

Portsmouth and District Canoe Club are based around Portsmouth, and offer a variety of sea trips?

My understanding is they are keen on qualifications??

Level 2 coach and racing coach but don't have much experience in basic techniques - apart from paddling forward in a straight line efficiently on calm water - that's about it ...

Will think about it and see ... thanks Janet

As a safety thing, they want you to have 2 star minimum for going offshore, but will help you get it. Bearing in mind, rescuing each other quickly if necessary is quite important on the sea!

No, just give Simon Ashburn a call to turn up to one of the Monday or Wednesday evening sessions.

They operate a vetting system (e.g. Janet's comment about 2 Star) for the trips at weekends.
