Moving to Surrey

Postby Jennie » Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:04 am

Hi

Like the subject line says, I'm moving to Surrey, RH5 post code area so wondering which clubs ( or people ) are active in the area. I'm a bit more of a sea paddler but willing (if not particularly skilful) to embrace the rivers and hoping to get a bit more open boating done this year.

I belong to Adur Canoe Club, as TechnoEngineer has linked to, and we're based at Shoreham. We're a really friendly bunch, with mixed range of activities, including fairly active WW and open canoe stuff. Check the website for details of our meeting places!
Certainly not sea specific, but we have a couple of sea paddlers: the nearest for specialist SK club is Portsmouth and District CC, of which I am also a member.

Purley Canoe Club is also another option. Not a member myself. Theres also a couple of clubs around the Medway.

RH5 is a nice area, just down the road from me. You've paddling right on your doorstep, almost. With the Mole being a stones throw. Only accessable on a limited period. The Wey is not much more than 40 mins drive. The Thames less than an hour. Chichester is doable in about an hour too. Some nice pubs around there as well.
