Hello there fellow Kayakers,
I have recently moved to the Durham area after spending a year up in the highlands of Scotland. I am looking for like - minded kayakers to go out paddling with or just too join a club or something. I have been Kayaking for about two years and have recently gained my UKCC level one and am looking to sort my level two out this year so am looking to improve myself coaching/personally. Basically I'm asking is there anyone out there that can give me any info about Kayaking around Durham. I have tried contacting the Durham Kayak Club but they have not got back to me so am not sure if it is still going or not, oh and I have also tried contacting the DUCC(Durham University Canoe Club) but have not heard back from them either. Please, please if you have any info could you get back to me as I am itching to hit a river!
Ryan

Hi Ryan,
I am the secretary for Durham Kayak Club and assure you we are still running ! I have checked back through my emails but can't find yours?
We offer structured coaching courses on the river in line with the current BCU/Canoe England policy, we also run pool courses throughout the winter and offer a one to one instruction depending on skills and requirement. Various trips to the Lakes, Scotland, Caledonian Canal, sea surfing and rock hopping, and of course other river trips are undertaken.
You can find me on Facebook - as well as Durham Kayak Club ( although members only you can view the main page ) We hope to have our website up and running very shortly!
PM me and we will sort something out -
