Alps 23 july-8 aug, spare place

Postby woodsy » Mon Jul 11, 2011 8:56 pm

Have a spare space in van heading to the alps on the 23 July, returning 8 august.
Sharing ferry/tracelling costs between 3.
No firm plans as to exact locations as yet, but it will be gd 4 rivers, with easier warm up & maybe the odd 4+-5.
Also plan to climb especially if water levels are low.
Would be a chilled trip although would be hoping to gets lots done.
Give me a shout if it is of interest.
Cheers

Anyone interested in this?
You would be teaming up with a couple of pretty experienced boaters, so ideal 1st trip to Alps.
Come along & save our Alps 2011 trip!

Get packed & grab a few euros, Woodsy & I will be going where the levels are sensible & an improving Grade 3 paddler will get the chance to see some stunning rivers & run G3-4+ with a pair of old river dogs (or should that just be old dogs?).
With transport, camping, food & an occasional glass of Dr. Merlot's special red energy drink, you are looking at about £300 - £400 for the two week trip.
Aiming to go boating just about every day if we can & to get some climbing done too.
Well, what are you waiting for, it's Monday & we're going early Saturday?

If I could could change my hols, I would have liked to hook up with you guys, but can't :( I'm off to a sea kayaking symposium (the dark side) on Orkney on the weekend of the 6th, ferry and place already booked. Hope you get something sorted out, have a great trip if you go

Thats soo annoying.. came back from Briancon just over 2 weeks ago and wanted to go back out... but saw you were looking for G4+ish paddlers so dismissed it...
I'm a G3+ paddler and would have been able to but I just literally yesterday agreed to do some voluntary youth work... bugger..bugger...bugger.. bugger
I hope you guys find someone and have an amazing time!!!

You would have been fine- always the option to portage the odd harder rapid or take a day off if overall grade is 4+
The cast majority of the rivers will be gd 3/ 4
