Can anyone give me a running commentry on what's happening weatherwise in the Peaks this afternoon and tonight please? I'm thinking of an early morning session tommorrow as it's all the time I can spare. Otherwise I'd be in Wales!
Particlurly around the North Peaks (Heydon Brook, Etherow etc).
Best I've got so far is a rain gauge in Congleton thanks to jmmoxon.
http://www.trochilus.co.uk/weather/wx.htm <- I think that's due to be updated at 15.59pm and every 4 hours as far as I can work out... Total rainfall is since midnight I think.

I have just been on the farms just north of etherow and everything was high but not enough to paddle. The peat is saturated so any rain will run off quickly.
I am back in Buxton now and its weeing it down. If it rains more this afternoon, brookbank Kev and I may try the Etherow tonight. If we do I will report back here.

Excellent, thanks a lot!
Just found this too. It says 31mm rain in Buxton since midnight. Sound about right?

To be honest, I am not holding my breath to much. It has just stopped raining here and everyone in the office stared at me with daggers when I just started complaining about it.

We paddled Heydon Brook at 9am. It was on a low but paddleable level and good fun, although dropped an inch in an hour.
At 6am I reckon it would've been well out of it's banks and too high to paddle judging by the tide marks along the river. 4 feet vertically above the top of the bank in places... I'll get there earlier next time before it drops so much!

Yeah apologies for not getting back to you. The peak was at 4am. I know this as you could paddle through our cellar.
