River Allan -Central Scotland - trees

Postby Dave_W » Fri Aug 08, 2008 2:17 pm

The Allan has been running at a decent high level for the past couple of days & we managed to have a blast down yesterday.

Noted that there are quite a number of new trees fallen down on the bank and across the river and blocking a couple of channels so care is needed on some sections but they are all avoidable at the moment.
Bear in mind that as newly fallen trees they are likely to move on the next flood

Update on this one, river is completly blocked at one point - a definate portage. Was not a problem portaging it last night when I was there but it was scrapy - may be more of a hazard in high water.
