A little more detail on this one. The casualty was an inexperienced kayak angler, he was not too well equipped, he was alone and he mis-judged the conditions on the day.

He was taken to hospital with hypothermia and fortunately made a full and rapid recovery.

A SOT, I'm hoping we've persuaded the chap to come along to one of our kayak angling safety courses. Kayak angling is exploding up here on the Yorkshire Coast, its an amazing coastline with an abundance of different species to target. More and more new paddlers are deciding to take up the hobby and as such we have taken the initiative to run several BCU Kayak Angling Specific Safety Courses this year.
