What on earth has happened to this forum?
Either I've accidentally clicked on the - sucks a bowling ball through a straw - theme or something has been changed and now the breadcrumbs don't work right and everything looks hideous. Help!

Deffo things appear to have been tweaked, but I know bugger-all about this forum or IT in general. However, using Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox I'm certainly not experiencing any probs, which may be useful for the Mods to know, if not necessarily any help to you, I'm afraid.

Everything looks ok layout wise for me. However I too have noticed that the breadcrumbs do not work properly. However this is only if you are not logged in. Logging in makes them work fine.

Right now, I haven't a clue what you're on about. You're going to have to give us a bit more to go on.....?

maybe the fact that a bunch of sea paddlers are defaulting to the inland forum and saying wtf, might be a clue....
Edit. No sorry it just say it is the inland forum... it is the sea bit after all

Any better? I haven't fixed the wrong top menu being highlighted, but the breadcrumbs may be working now.

Breadcrumbs are ok now.
When logged in as a user in the SEA section the top menu shows INLAND, when browsing as a guest in the SEA area the top menu shows COMMUNITY

[quote="journeyman"]Using Safari and Firefox - similar thing going on in all forums (fori?)
"Fora". Well there, that semantic crisis which threatened to derail the entire site has been addressed. Thank God I'm here...!
Less sarcastically, I generally used to be logged in by default, but now have to choose to do so. Maybe just me (summat to do with them thar 'cookies' whatever they are?!). Personally I couldn't give a hoot, but that info may be useful. Also, for some time now (a month?) it has taken a looong time for the forum to load up (over a minute) without problems elsewhere on t'internet. I've assumed this is just me as otherwise it'd be well noted, but again there for info which MarkR's in-house IT Bitches may or may not find helpful...

Hansel and Gretel, dropped breadcrumbs, find way home,
its a navigation method to let folk know where they are within a website and be able to navigate (home?) from where they arein the site:
its the trail to where you are from home, bit that goes Home > Community > Community Forums > Sea & Surf > Post Name

Hello Mark R,
For a couple of days now when I log on and go to unread posts it will only let me read page 1, when I try to progress it just returns to page 1, is it something you can help with or is it my side of things? Oh and I am using ie8.
Thanks,
Mark.

And when I read a post from the unread posts page it used to disappear from the list but nowadays stays on the page?

How do you post a screen shot as above. I have one to post. All the font is big and bold, and some smaller writing is overlapping. I am not zoomed in, I am mozilla firefox 8.. I think it's 8.

I assume your not experiencing the problem any more. If you are still getting it try clearing your browser cache and reloading the page. If it reoccurs let us know.

Thanks, It should always show COMMUNITY when on the forum, but something broken. It is related to the fact that the first "Community" in the breadcrumbs is missing on some pages.

Re: What on earth has happened to this forum?
The forum does look different in that it appears in a narrower format on a widescreen monitor - no great loss however.
I still hold out hope that the breadcrumbs reference might eventually furnish even a mild chortle.
here is until then.

Thanks Mark, I have not come across a reference to a hamsters being used in a complement before. I as I've mentioned before the difficult bit about updating this site is where we started from, moving forwards is becoming a lot easier.
