Something similar to this was displayed at the Outdoor Show about 10 years ago. I seem to remember that one acted like a ducks foot and opened up to full spread on each stroke and closed up on the recovery.
Warmest wishes,

Think I remember seeing something very simialar on something like Dragons Den? I'm sure the threory went, that you didn't have to take it out the water, as you pushed it forward in the water the web contracts so slices forward then opens up on the pull?
allowing the blade/web to stay suubmerged all the time?

Just rotate the blade a bit and you can do the same thing with a fixed blade. Can't really see the benefit.

The main advantage is that the paddles collapse into a small bag for transport or storage, and pull a lot of water. They are now in small-scale production: http://webbedpaddles.com/

I'm trying to imagine sculling with these. Or a whole bunch of blended stuff that'd make them collapse. Think I'll stick with my Nordkapps if it's all the same.
