Cold

Spent most of today being cold in a cold place.

That's not a clever pun or play on words. We were. It was.

Looks like Hayling Island.
The woods would be silent if no bird sang except those that sing best.

Guidebook,

I too spent the day afloat being cold but enjoying the sunlight on the mountains of the NW Highlands.

Three of us had a great day on a misty, windy Loch Lomond, one of us enjoying the first experience of a sea-boat and enjoying the experience of being IN Loch Lomond! The gentleman concerned did very well indeed, but it was interesting to note that despite a dry suit, after the second wee swim he was so cold that he was having difficulty making his hands work to get his deck on. Just goes to show how even a simple day out in only mildley bumpy conditions has the potential to go pear-shaped.

Overall, a good day out, but I was really saddened to find this large pile of rubbish on one the islands, including (unbelievably) the remains of a garden gazebo, and numerous pots, pans and bar-b-que gear!

Beside it, another piece of rubbish, clearly been there a while as well!

The power cable running to the shore from a cabin window suggests that perhaps it was powering part-lights when something went wrong and it ended up onshore instead of afloat. Anyone know the story?

Whatever the cause, it was really sad to find so much junk. I hope the Parks authority find the resource to clear it all up. We'd have taken some of it, but not having anything to put it all in, it would have been just a bit difficult.

I was afloat yesterday - see Douglas' thread :)

I did get some aquaplaning action in my buggy today, including a 180 spin at 20mph+, ah the joys of wet beaches!

Yesterday was warmer - no wind, more movement. My fingers nearly died today when I wasn't wearing gloves!

But if you want cold, at the start of lat week I actually had to wear thermals under my commuting t-shirt and shorts - I don't normally need to do that even if it snows (ming you I need overtrousers and top then).
