Spotted Canoe Paddle on Usk

Postby Cymru Richie » Mon Nov 02, 2009 11:47 am

We found a single black blade canoe paddle on the Usk yesterday in the trees just down from Mill Falls. What with the high water levels and having to look after our group with group safety in mind we were unable to bring the paddle with us to the get out at the bridge a little further down.

We did however hang the paddle up in the tree on River Right.

I know we passed a group of paddlers with kayaks and canoes and herd a few canoists took swims in the area.

Thanks very much Rich, it belonged to one of our group and we retrieved it. Excellent work.

Monmouth canoe club had a bit of an epic that day but all four (maybe five) boats were retreived.

My club, wyedean canoe club, lost a kayak and a canadian, got the kayak back the canadian is still out there. It's green but I cant remember the make off my head (it's a member of our clubs but not my boat). They searched for it today but with no luck, any information? Last seen going over horseshoe falls around 11am on sunday...contact me if you know anything.

(just had a look a bit more on this forum and I think that it's the post named Canoe Lost that is the person who lost it)
Not swimming, not trying hard enough

I lost a black carbon shaft plastic blade Carlisle kayak paddle, eventually found my 'new'(that day!) boat. It's taken me 4 months to afford a new paddle! If anyone still has the old one I'd really appreciate it (it had my fone no scratched into it). Thanks.
