europe 1st week of september

Postby Nics » Wed Aug 08, 2012 11:02 am

Hi,

Im thinking of a very a very late season trip out to europe,(heading out end of august into september) just wondering where people think there would still be some water, We're looking for a mixture of water levels grade 2-4 hopefully!

Any ideas would be great!

Thanks
Nicky

AUSTRIA

I have been out as late as mid October to the Landeck region. Sections on the Inn like tosens, Landeck Gorge and imst gorge will still be realeasing and the oetz will still be good as will be lower and good for grade 3/4 boaters. Also other runs like the Sanna and the swiss runs (schouls, Gairsun,Adez gorge) will go with some rain which is most likely in September.

Gauges can be found here on these websites.

Also give Andy Murray a ring at sports camp tirol as he will advise on current levels as well and has good accomdation right on the takle out of the Sanna.

Enjoy

The western part of Austria will have water. The Inn will work in Switzerland and also in Austria though at the weekend it can be problematic in Austria (Toesens, Shoot, Landeck Gorge etc). The Ardez and Giarsun will have some amazing colours. The Sanna will be over, Rosanna too. Oetz will be good to go.
A lot depends on the weather, it can snow up in the mountains but you can actually boat through to October here.
Any more help give me a shout.

Also the Soča will have water, and it's still very warm there in early September. Consider a road trip to include the Tyrol, Öst Tyrol, Salzbergerlander & Slovenia.
