I read that article yesterday. Scared me.
Immense effort to get in there but does seem like an awful lot of work for 3 falls?
Good rope work in the team but it gave me the heebie jeebies when he said:

On this our third round trip on our white lifeline the rope had already worn to the core after skittering and sliding along the jagged edge of the first overhang. We pulled the rope up enough to move the wear spot beyond our anchor bolts and hoped for good luck in the morning.
Well done to all of them for completing what is definitely an impossible run for most.
