Worth a read; bit of an outsiders perspective which is refreshing sometimes.

A good article. That's what white water paddling is missing. The public perception that it is accessible and achievable for "normal" people*. Also, that OMFG white water is FUN! As opposed to a white knuckle seat of your pants "I'm going to die!!" experience. Yes, there is the latter, but the former needs to be shown more. After all where are most white water kayakers seen? I'd say usually on G2 and G3. Yet those grades are the most under represented in the kayaking media because almost killing yourself off a 100ft waterfall sells magazines while a potter down a G3 doesn't.

*Most of the people I have met while kayaking are pretty abnormal. That's what makes them great, but it should be noted that normal people might want to try kayaking too...
