Palm extrem ev and carrying a knife
Looking for some advice. Am in need of a new BA and had pretty much decided on a Palm Extrem EV based on the fact that it fits me better than the Astral Greenjacket. However I can't see where to attach a knife onto it. I know it has a zippered knife pocket but I would rather continue to carry a sheaf knife on the outside of my BA where it's easily accessible than keep it in a pocket. Can anyone who has one tell me if there's a way of doing this or have palm deliberately designed it this way to keep it 'clean'?

Simple, effective and blindingly obvious - cheers that's just what I needed to be told and you've just made palm some money... now why didn't they put an attachment point there anyway?

Where the strap meets the body, there is a hole behind the small knife pocket, you should be able to tuck most of the sheath in there to make it less cumbersome. You may like it upside down.

I guess that with current designs on safety kit, Palm has used the 'clean' principle on their BA design. This is where nothing that may snag is attached to the outside of a BA.
I guess it's a question for the OP for their unique circumstances - to outweigh the ease of access of an externally mounted knife against the snag potential and ease of losing that knife.
There is no one clear answer, but I do see far fewer knives on show on the rivers these days (which I see as a good thing). I keep mine in a pocket but can still access it very easily when needed.

I keep mine on the left tucked in behind the pocket where the chest harness goes, loosely cable tied to the chest harness strap. This means it's out of sight and keeps a clean profile, but can still be got in and out one handed. It's dead easy to get out with your left hand, but a lot harder with your right.

Carry two??? One on each side like a ninja, or is that a bit overkill. :p
