We checked it out 4-5 years ago - all underwater now.

The footage is basically one rapid - once you run the opening 3m drop you are committed to paddling to the end. One drop could not be scouted but we had seen it from the top of the Gorge and around the corner after it, it was flat. If you watch carefully at around 5.35 Mike Hewlett gives a thumbs up sign.

Techniques and boats have improved in 25+ years!

Awesome, Dave! It is still inspiring, especially considering when it was made and how few boaters there were doing that type of thing.

Hope to see you in Cardiff on the 7th July- perhaps we can find old style boats and challenge modern paddlers to tackle the Cardiff rapids in one!

Thanks for that Dave, remember being put off it after reading your river notes . A real shame that the Atlas doesn,t have more reliable water levels for as a cultural/scenic/gorge scrambling/paddling road trip Morocco is pretty hard to beat.

What's happening July 7th then? Why would I have to go to Splott?

I'm trying to figure if you are being ironic/deliberately obtuse (if either are the right expression) but I'll bite anyway:
