I have a Medium Molan 85kg and 6foot and considering as I have the cash to splash for a Jed.
My ability: I can double pump and cartwheel with or without paddles on flatwater, I can stern stall but NOT bow stall, and therefore cannot loop.
Anyone made this swap or have any comments? good or bad as long as they are constructive please.

I'd say go for it !
If you can double pump with out paddles you must have pretty good boat control,
The jed is much sharper and more responsive then the molan,
The ends are really low volume which makes vertical moves much easier than with the molans slightly more bulbous end.
I swapped in january and have to say I've been loving the change,
I'm 80kg and 5,8 it seems a pretty good fit on me, take one for a demo from you're local shop and see what you think for yourself.
You can also see the promo video for the Jed here - https://vimeo.com/43277806
See you on the water,
Bren

Re: Molan vs Jed worth a upgrade?
Thanks Bren,
Yeah I mean I can initiate a double pump without paddles (using my hands for slight support instead :P) but I am no means an expert so youd advice is welcomed. My only concern is footroom for long periods....an excuse for more tea breaks I suppose!!

Bren, out of interest, what do you think of the carbon molan vs plastic jed? Does the better/lighter material perform better, or does the new design make all the difference?

I'd reccomend a Jed, but make sure you sit in a med and a large, I'm pretty tight at 5'9 so I think you'd be happier in a Large.

Picked up a large Jed 2 weeks ago - http://www.unsponsored.co.uk/press/?p=2122
Molan is very similar, but overall the Jed feels more aggressive.

Re: Molan vs Jed worth a upgrade?
Hey Clarky,
It's a tough one, the carbon Molan was awesome and at first I wasn't very keen to swap boats, not least to a plastic boat, but the Jed had such a good feel about it, I gave it a try and once I'd got used to plastic again it paddled really well and felt like it had much more potential in air and linking moves than the Molan.
Definitely prefer the Jed to the molan, but carbon boats have a much bigger performance advantage,
I have the best of both worlds now with the carbon version of the Jed.
See you on the water,
Bren
