Hello,
I am looking to purchase my first whitewater paddle. I have previously been borrowing from various sources but I am now ready to purchase my own. I've been looking around and somebody suggested the Robson Combat. It seemed a bit heavy to me, but is in my price range (circa one hundred pounds). Does anybody have any recommendations for an intermediate paddler?
I'll be to paddling mostly in n.Wales and possibly down in Cardiff and take a playboat into the sea.

Have a look at the site then give them an email. I managed to get some great sets of paddles for my uni club at great prices. Picked up some cosmetic seconds and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them at all. Big step up from schelgals, they are always the paddle the members fight over.
I don't really rate the cheaper werners. You will get a lot more for your money from lendal.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'll definitely get in touch with lendal. Thanks for the suggestion.
I had a look at the palm paddles because you can't really go wrong with palm. However, they seemed as heavy as the Robeson combat?

Lendal are a great starting point. Many of the Werners I have seen for sale 2nd hand are quite beaten and well worn, and sometimes over priced. A bargain does come along now and again.

I sent Lendal an email a week ago but didn't get a reply. Are they usually prompt at replying? I'll probably give them a ring next week sometime.
