Gotta say fellas - good work - nice to see the change in paddling styles.
Last time I saw this paddled was by Baker et al. Hasn't the technique changed since then? more a side ways slide and allow the bump ro straighten you where as baker was falling on to the side of the boat and risking the lump flicking him back to flat.

Think that is probably more to do with them paddling Spuds rather than modern flat hulled designs.

To comment on the styles/technique of the run Baker etc with round boats made a lean away from the ledge undercut. Dave Thompson did the same on this run (catching the tail to allow him to go straight). If landing flat it would have been the same as Shaun Bakers landing. I paddled an Everest and wanted to leave with speed, using the hull to slide with the slab. Gravity straightened the boat.
I watched the Shaun 'Waterfall video' many-many times in my youth, so it was nice to paddle the memories.

I certainly don't want to denigrate anyone, but how much of those descents were down to bottle, how much to skill? I would say that it could look to the untrained eye that it was nearly all bottle, some luck and little skill. (I don't think that, and I don't have the bottle OR skill to try it!)
That flat landing in the Sean Baker vid looked very painful.
